I am a little scared to try this. I have never tried hypnosis before and don't know what to expect. Are there any "dangers" of doing this while alone?This is a relaxation session, period. There is no magic in hypnosis, it's just words and music. That being said, if you are apprehensive, try it at a later time. Also, do not listen while driving, walking or doing anything that requires waking concentration, you can easily falls asleep.i like this videos it helped a little i just wish i could find something free to help me quit smoking ive tried patches fake cigs and gum but it just dont work anybody have a good ideal of what to try let me know. Not at all. When you are in hypnosis you are still aware so if somebody does knock on the door you will come out of hypnosis and will answer. Hypnosis is just a normal state very similar to daydreaming.

I wonder why I have so many relatives that smoked worse cigarettes (old school unfiltered ones) and they all lived to be from ages 80- 103? According to society, they shouldn't have died of old age, I should have smokers cough for inhaling second hand smoke for 16 years, my mother should smell like an ashtray for smoking for 20 years, and she should have smelly hands... But weed is ok because it gets you high. The world we live in.
When found this video I thought what the hell, it can't hurt, the worst thing that can happen is I'll want a cigarette in an hour. That was 8 days ago. I always believe that you will know what is best for you. When I see cleints at my hypnosis practice for stopping smoking it only requires one session. Thank you for this video. I started smoking when I was fourteen, and I find it hardest not to smoke in social situations where others are smoking. I also work at a bar, which may seem like a difficult atmosphere not to smoke in. I've never tried hypnosis before thirty minutes ago, experiencing this video. A good ideal would be for you to write down all the benefits of being a non-smoker and then to imagine yourself with these benefits in your life. People when stopping smoking usually think they are giving something up. However you are giving nothing up you are gaining so much. Also when you listen to the session it is also important that you have a belief that it is going to work. If you are listening hoping that it will work then the chances are it is not going to. You can do this.
What can I do about taste cravings? I have terrible taste cravings for cigarettes to the point where I lick the inside of my mouth. What can you recommend? I'm desperate.
Imagine that thing you hate the taste of, yes, you know the one, the one that turns your guts over? Try not to think of that disgusting taste when you have a cigarette, Don't let it pop into your head, every time you smoke, do your best!
A good technique is to close your eyes, take a few deep breaths to get relaxed and then think about that taste. Lick the inside of your mouth and get connected with the taste. Now imagine putting dog food in your mouth and mouldy food and chew letting it fill your taste buds. Now picture a cigarette in your minds eye and lick the inside of your mouth, as you do the taste of dog food and mouldy foods intensifies.The question is, what effect will YOU have on the habit? :) Are you really stubborn enough to make a promise to yourself to be healthier?:).

Hypnosis being used in conjunction with CBT and Interpersonal approaches can most likely help, hypnosis itself isn't therapy, it is just the process of focusing attention on one thing to help it work better. You can't forget the past or erase memories with hypnosis (not in most people) but can remove emotion from memories (using processes like on my 'Love Removal Process' track) so that memories don't trigger negative emotions. Hypnosis itself isn't dangerous, but untrained people can be.
Here's another problem I have, that's forming an image of the triggers and worst outcome into something tangible that can be put into a box. Hypnosis interests me, in passing, at least. Recently though, I discovered a friend of mine had witnessed a bank robbery. The culprit walked right past her She barely noticed him, but under hypnosis performed by someone they police brought in, she recalled details of his description that she didn't consciously remember, right down to his shoes.
Again this may be something where you take time to think of what for you are the positives of quitting and negatives of not quitting, as long as you know what they are that is the important thing, so if I said 'you know that worst case of not quitting' you would think of something. Most things have a visual representation, but it doesn't have to, you just have to know what these things are for you so that when I refer to them you know what I am referring to.
Occasionally people fall asleep listening to self hypnosis tracks if they listen at a time they are naturally tired, or if they don't get much sleep and their mind prefers them to sleep than follow the track. One way to manage this is to listen to the track at a different time of day or in a place that increases your chances of remaining awake, it could be a different room, or sitting in a different position, for example; like on an upright chair rather than a sofa.
How does one prevent their mind from wandering? I had an itch on my face while listening to this, I couldn't ignore it. I sometimes feel the need to adjust myself in my seat. These are some examples, of things that interfere with my concentration. One other thing, I'm American, and the accent is difficult for me to understand, as I'm sure mine would be for you, but a couple of times I was distracted thinking "what did he say?" What affect does this have on the success of the session?It depends what you mean by wandering, if, as you describe, it is having an itch, or being uncomfortable in the seat, or similar experiences then it is best to just scratch it or shift your position, it shouldn't make any difference to the experience, what would distract from the experience would be trying to ignore the itch or uncomfortableness, this would focus your attention more on it, it is no different to everyday experience if you sit there with an itch and try to ignore it, it gets worse. The accent may just lead to needing to listen to the track a few times to get the idea of what I am saying so that you can follow it easier when you listen to it therapeutically. As with any self hypnosis track people often listen to the track daily until the changes have set in, so the first few times you listen you may just choose to listen to get used to the accent and process.

The music in the background I created for this track, I don't know if I have this backing music specifically available, but I created a few similar backing tracks for different tracks at the same time and some of the others I still have mp3's of.You lost me at the beginning when you talked about the harm of quitting. I am not a stupid person. I know the harmful effects of smoking. If that was going to help me quit I could have quit years ago.
I talk about how smokers know about the harm caused by smoking, they know the worst case scenarios, yet this doesn't work to help people quit. Part of the technique used on this track is to have individuals identify what the worst outcome for them of continuing smoking is, what the best outcome of quitting smoking is, and creating a new pattern of thinking with this information, the process isn't aimed at the conscious mind or using logic or 'knowing' but at changing the instinctive response.

I am a 23 year old smoker, and through out the whole video, I just felt like a smoke. I want to quit only due to money. I'm not really worried about how long I live or anything of that variety, so I'm not sure this will work for me. Oh well, hopefully after repeated listenings I'll start to feel more of an effect.

I have added this to my favourites, i have had hypnotherapy for major anxiety and sleeping problems and it worked. I am ready to try this for smoking now as it makes me feel like a disgusting/smelly piece of filth that is enslaved. I really want the old me back.First time I listened to this audio I gave up for six weeks... I listened to it late one evening and when I woke the next day, the idea of having a ciggirette made me feel very sick. I just forgot about it and carried on with life. After six weeks I hurt my back and went through some major stress. Unfortunately the urges came back and I was not really in the head space to fight them.Im 8 months pregnant just came from the doctor who told me due to my smoking my baby is small. I feel so awful like a horrible selfish person. Ive been smoking for over 10 yrs. I really hope this works.

i've been listening the audio since last week, every night. i realized that i'm not smoking as soon as i wake up (this is huge for me). BUT i only could listen to this from the beginning to the end just at the first time. each time i'm going to sleep easier and last night i guess i passed to sleep as soon as heard the voice... is there something wrong with me or it also helps for the sleeping disorder? :). I'd keep listening, sometimes the relaxing aspects of the track and the fact that it can help focus on something and off of internal dialog can help people to sleep. One of the main things people with insomnia do is talk to themselves as they go to sleep, or worry about things or go over thinking about what they've got to do, this keeps them awake and then they can worry about not falling asleep which can keep them awake...With time regular listening can help link my voice with entering trance. I've found this very helpful, it has been 8 days since I last smoked tobacco and although I'm starting to get restless I just re watched the vid and feel very positive that I wont be buying cigs ever again. I houseshare and frequently have visitor most of whom smoke and I have not been tempted. The thing that resonated is the word no when cigs come to mind(not reprimanding,just a calm no which has been enough).I have not used nicotine sups just gum(mint) and guitar.'preciate it dan owe u 1. Sound like you have already been able to help yourself from the ideas and processes on the track. I worked with a woman that wanted to lose weight, a month in to losing weight she had a cake and decided that meant she should give up on the diet, rather than recognising that relapse is normal. In one to one therapy we always look at what percentage of success would you be happy with achieving, most people won't get 100% and normally accept therapy can help them get about 70%.

I'm new at this and at first it worked, my normal after eating trigger didn't actually trigger, but a while after that, I guess I just got bored and couldn't bump the urge. Not sure but I think I fell asleep when I was visualizing my triggers, my mind wanders easily I guess. Is it possible because I didn't visualize all my triggers some will still remain very strongly?
I started smoking at the age of 12. I stopped smoking 7 years ago, for 9 months. Everyday was a fight to stop buying a pack and lighting up. One day i did. Last 6weeks ago, i watched this video. Since then, i havent even felt like smoking. Thank you to the uploader for letting me spend many more years with my family.
It will come with practice, it doesn't matter if you don't visualise vividly, it is more about having the stages in place and accessing the pattern so that a new pattern of behaviour gets installed so that when the first part happens it triggers a new pattern rather than the old smoking pattern, like anything practice and repitition makes it more instinctive and unconscious.
If you just briefly open your eyes, notice what has disturbed you and then carry on with the track that is ok, if the disturbance is more than that starting again is better. Some people only need to listen to the track once, others may need to listen daily until they quit. Most self-hypnosis tracks are best used daily until change happens, as this one is interactive each stage needs to be followed some times this can take practice and not being distracted.
I watched this video out of curiosity, I did it at lunch break at work. After 10 minutes I was feeling sleepy so I stopped it. I did not have a cigarette later that day, nor the day after. It has been 8 months already that I have not had a smoke, in fact, I am really disgusted by the sole idea of cigarettes, let alone smell them or smoke them, I can say this video truly works, don't know how but it does.
Being a bit of a sceptic, I was looking for self hypnosis videos and came across this. I underwent hypnotherapy a few weeks ago, and slowly ended up back on the smokes, jsut having the "odd one" to prevent the symptoms of the 3 day withdrawal period. Yesterday I smoked about 15 cigarettes and decided enough is enough. I listened to this last night at 10PM - its now 2PM the following day and I haven't touched one since. Hoping to listen to it again tonight.
It works if u really wanna quit but I didn't but at the end of the vid I felt no need for a fag so it does work just not for people who don't want to truly quit like me as I am still smoking :).
This video is brilliant. It's worked for me! A tip to those out there trying this out: Keep at it, Listen every day. It might take a few days before you actually stop. If you relapse and start again, don't get sad and think you've wasted all the time listening to this. Your mind is already programmed and only needs a top up. Just listen to it again and you'll instantly feel motivated to free yourself from smoking. This is powerful stuff!

And if it did ; get back in the fight and try again - remembering that any dis-ease, coughing, cold-symptoms & nausea and such are basically your body waking up all it´s anti-poison receptors and cleansing systems ; causing a lot of toxins to leave your body. This can make you slightly ill for a bit (and sometimes cause a relapse, nicotine-brain using the opportunity well) but when you know it´s your body ridding yourself of the poison, it can feel GREAT! GL. I'm going to give this a try, I hope it works! For health reasons, I really need to quit! Wish me luck! :). this really do'es work second time round now will try it tomorrow,don't want to smoke any more 5 out of 5...on patches at the moment so this will help i know. HOLY SHIT!, This worked! I'm so happy I could cry. The cravings have melted away like lethal ice on a spring flower!
